My name is Tina A. Hull, I am a Registered Massage Therapist from Toronto and now with my husband in his own country in the Caribbean the island of Nevis with our two beautiful daughters. I started learning about marketing while growing my business for 6 years in Toronto but really took more courses and exploring it when a hurricane closed the hotel I was working in. So for the past 6 years I have been learning about marketing my own business and wanted to help others grow their own business and to also learn how to sell more books.
How would you introduce your books to someone that has yet to read it?
My book is about marketing specifically to massage therapists but it has key foundational and fundamental business strategies that anyone can learn and apply to their own business, even authors. I don’t focus much on tactics but I do share what has worked and not worked for me.
What inspired you to start writing? What age did you start?
I have been writing since I was a child, journaling emotions and feelings about my life and also writing prayers and poems.
What advice would you give to an aspiring author?
Anyone who is wanting to write, just do it, if even for 5 minutes per day. Just decide to do it. Once you start writing start creating your author platform, making connections with people within your genre (know who your target reader is going to be) and follow authors in that genre and watch and learn what they are doing and write it down. Do not wait until you are finished with the book before you start this process.
What’s your favorite scene/line from your works?
From the chapter Law of Attraction. “If you are interested, you’ll do what is convenient. If you are committed, you’ll do whatever it takes.” -OneCoach
What’s the hardest thing about writing? The easiest?
The easiest part is the writing, the hardest is the editing and the marketing.
What are you currently reading?
Down the Colorado, by Karen Hopkins
What are you currently working on?
A monthly newsletter for authors
How has your life changed since you began writing?
I feel calmer have written the book and proud of the journals I have created to help others so they don’t have to struggle as much as I did.
What’s been your favorite moment as an author?
Getting a message from a Massage Therapist who read the book and felt ready to start her own business with confidence and strategies she could use to be successful.
What do you want readers to take away from your books?
My book is about what I have learned over the past 20 years both personal and professional. I have made mistakes, saw mistakes and wanted to impart a new way of looking at business from the foundation up, starting with you, the reader, the author, the massage therapist and the small business owner.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Travelling with my girls on the tour, helping authors start and build their platforms and still doing some massage. Also traveling back and forth between Toronto and Nevis
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Dare To Be Different
